MicroSurgical Suture for Targeted Neurovascular Hemostasis
Project Overview
Designed a microsurgical suture with integrated flow sensors to autonomously address hemorrhaging in neurovascular and ophthalmic surgeries.
Key Contributions:
- Developed 100µm hot-wire anemometers and nitinol sputter-deposited, joule-heating-actuated overhanging grippers for rapid hemostasis.
- Designed device manufacturing process and Data/Control quicklink interconnect.
- Performed detailed thermal and structural analysis of the device and target vessels.
- Proposed for use in enhancing cranial microsurgical operational viability.
